Urgent Earthquake-Relief Work in Yushu, Qinghai

After Yushu Earthquake in Qinghai Province, Benevolence actively took up its social commonweal duty. As a medical foundation, it first get enlisted in Sichuan Public Health On April 14, 2010, and asked to participate in medical service, especially psychological consultation. When the instruction form the department arrived that we not join in the 1st stage until the psychological aid of the late stage, the managing director contacted the Local Relief Headquarters of Yushu and the Relief Material Center of Qinghai Civil Affair Department. After consulting the lacking sorts of relief material, the foundation decided right away to contribute 47,600 RMB to purchase 1,400 boxes of instant noodles (over 30 m³) of which the victims were badly in need. Considering the specific situation of Qinghai Province, all the instant noodles we donated contained no ingredient of pork.
Soon after they had arranged the purchase, loading, delivering and transporting of the goods, the board chairman, the managing director, the administrative deputy secretary-general, the director of the psychological center went in person to Xining to arrange and supervise the delivery. In the workplace of Qinghai Relief Material Center, we found that donations transported there were either stored or immediately sent to Yushu according to the degree of urgency. We were pleased to see our tons of instant noodles right transferred to the department’s trucks and transported to Yushu to meet the victims’ pressing need without any delay.
