Attending the China-Australia Symposium of Foundation Development

At the invitation, the representatives from Benevolence attended the China-Australia Symposium of Foundation Development hosted by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in Beijing on January 18, 2009. The agenda included such topics on foundation development as law and regulation, function, asset management, internal administration, financial management and project management. Only a small number of public and private foundations were invited from the provinces of Sichuan, Anhui and Zhejiang, and the cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. The Civil Affair Department of Sichuan was asked to send two public and one private foundations as representatives. Benevolence was favoured with the honour as the only private one. We gained a lot from the meeting in terms of the state development direction of public welfare, oversea reference, et al.
